At Little Green Sock Project, we believe no child should go without the essentials they need for safety, comfort and healthy development. Yet across Greater Manchester, too many families are facing impossible choices - between heating and food, nappies and transport, or keeping their children warm and keeping the lights on.

We step in early, before hardship becomes crisis. Through trusted professional referrals, we provide high-quality preloved and new items to families experiencing material deprivation - ensuring children have what they need and parents feel supported, respected and never judged.

Every bundle we prepare is rooted in dignity and compassion. From safe sleep spaces and warm coats to prams, school shoes, thermometers and toys that spark joy, these essentials protect children’s health, development and wellbeing. They also give parents the confidence and tools they need to care safely and independently.

We are powered by community action. Volunteers sort, clean and prepare every item with care. Donors pass on high-quality items their children have outgrown. Local partners help us reach families quickly and safely. Together, we’re preventing harm, reducing health inequalities and creating a more sustainable future where good quality items are reused, not wasted.
